Acceptable Use Policy

The rules for using Includoc safely and fairly: no illegal content or malware, no abuse of free tools, no PHI without a BAA, and no unauthorized reselling.

Not legal advice

Includoc provides evidence of automated and human accessibility checks. It is not legal advice and does not certify legal compliance.

This policy explains what you may not do with Includoc. It's part of our Terms of Service. We wrote it to keep the service safe, fair and available for the public agencies, schools, colleges, consultants and people who rely on it.

Content you may not upload or submit

  • Illegal content, or content you don't have the right to upload or have processed, including content that infringes someone else's intellectual property or privacy rights.
  • Child sexual abuse material. We report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, as the law requires.
  • Malware, viruses or files designed to harm systems, including documents crafted to exploit software flaws.
  • Protected health information, unless we've signed a business associate agreement (BAA) with you.

Free tools and usage limits

Our free checker and free tools are free so that anyone can check a document. To keep them that way, please don't:

  • Use scripts, bots or other automated means to use the free checker, alt-text generator or other free tools, except through an API we provide for that purpose.
  • Create multiple accounts, or use multiple IP addresses or other workarounds, to get more free checks or free pages than you're allowed.
  • Try to get around rate limits, page or file size limits, bot protection (such as Cloudflare Turnstile) or plan allowances.
  • Use the free tools to run a competing service.

Security and the service

  • Don't probe, scan or test the security of Includoc, except under our vulnerability reporting guidelines on our trust page. Report anything you find to security@includoc.com.
  • Don't access, or try to access, accounts, files or data that aren't yours.
  • Don't interfere with or overload the service, including by uploading files designed to use excessive resources.
  • Don't reverse engineer, decompile or try to extract our source code, except where the law allows it.
  • Don't use the service to send spam or unsolicited messages.

Scraping, reselling and sharing access

  • No scraping. Don't copy our website, guides, tools or results in bulk with automated tools. Search engines may index our public pages as our robots.txt allows.
  • No unauthorized reselling. Don't resell, sublicense, rent or otherwise provide access to Includoc to others, or white-label it, except through our partner program. You may use Includoc to deliver your own services, for example as a consultant fixing client documents, and you may share our reports with your clients.
  • No shared logins. Each person uses their own seat. Don't share sign-in credentials.

Websites and IncludocBot

  • Add only websites you own or are authorized to manage, and complete ownership verification honestly.
  • Don't use the website inventory or our link checker to fetch content you aren't allowed to access, or to target sites you don't control. See IncludocBot for how our crawler behaves.

Honest use of results

  • Don't misrepresent our results. For example, don't claim that Includoc certified a document, website or organization as legally compliant.
  • Don't edit our reports in a way that changes their results, or present a document as human-verified unless human verification was performed.

If this policy is broken

If you break this policy, we may remove content, limit features, or suspend or close accounts, as described in our Terms of Service. Where practical, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem. We may report illegal activity to the appropriate authorities.
